I have had this company since I formed it shortly after leaving my old school, Manchester Grammar. We are fortunate in being successful enough to allow my participation in the UK racing scene, and I have run in formulas from Karts to National Formula 3.
As well as racing,I have sold various race cars to customers, and a lot of time is spent preparing and maintaining them.
We run an inertia type engine dyno, for the setting up and development of 2 and 4 stroke kart and motor bike engines, which is computer controlled with specially developed control software.
It was because of being "forced" into learning about computers via this software, that my interest in PC's and the Internet came about.I now spend a disgraceful amount of time on the Internet, and have invested in an ISDN link to U-Net my service provider and to a good friends home,Jeff Stott. We also enjoyed 18 months of Cable Modem access,on Cable and Wireless's trial, now sadly ended. The withdrawal symptoms remain.
My wife Jane, and myself have always gone racing together, and
her support both moral and physical has enabled us to take long weekends
away,travelling thousands of miles a year,following various race series.This
last year, I have dedicated some considerable time on our house,as it had
suffered at the hands of neglect,(racing....),and was demanding the input
of time and money. As a result my outings in race cars has been almost zero
this last year, but I will start a season in a late F3 Dallara with a Mugen
Honda power unit in 1999.The car is now found and purchased, but I am still looking for
a decent Mugen Honda and any useful chassis or engine spares. All offers most welcome
Jane has another unusual breed, an 11 year old Anatolian Karabash, sometimes
also known as the Turkish Mastiff in some countries. Her dog Kara, was one
of the first into the UK, and as such is from working Turkish descent.
This has been quite an experience,as when younger she took her guarding
instincts very seriously indeed, and was quite a handful. As she matured
she became a lot calmer, and now in her old age is a real softie. She never
got over the loss of her companion Ozzie the Komondor, and treats his replacement
with some disdain. In fact they dislike one another intensely, and have to
be kept apart.
As if two very large dogs were not enough,we felt obliged to have
another young dog as company for the Komondor, when it became apparent that
the old dog and the youngster were never going to live peacably together. We
decided on the Giant Schnauzer, and what a character Basil has turned out
to be! We were warned of their supreme intelligence, but shrugged it off
as an exaggeration. This was our undoing,as he rapidly learnt to open both
cupboard and room doors, and to decide for himself when meal times were, and
his menu for the moment....We have now reached an "understanding"but
life is always exciting with Basil around.
We welcome e-mail about our professional services as well as about dogs
in general and our "own" breeds in particular.
